Cancelation Policy

No-Show/Late Cancellation, and general cancellation policy.

It is the policy of SunDirect International Medical Care & Services to monitor and manage appointment NO-SHOW and LATE CANCELLATIONS. Our goal is to provide excellent care to each patient in a timely manner. Because our clients more often than not should arrive to Guatemala 48 to 36 hours before any planed procedure (this time may vary) if it is necessary to cancel an appointment, patients are required to contact us, in writing at least 72-hours before their scheduled arrival to Guatemala. Notification allows us to better utilize appointments for other patients’ in need of prompt medical care.
“NO-SHOW” is defined as any patient who fails to arrive for a scheduled appointment without canceling the appointment more than 72-hours prior to the scheduled arrival time to Guatemala.

Patients

A. Appointment must be cancelled at least 72-hours prior to the scheduled arrival time to Guatemala.

B. SunDirect International Medical Care & Services reserves the right to charge for any scheduled follow up visit that is canceled with less than 72-hour notice, or misses without calling to cancel (NO SHOW). This fee is the responsibility of the patient and cannot be submitted to their insurance (if trying to file)

C. SunDirect International Medical Care & Services will NOT schedule another appointment until the fee has been paid by the patient; the only exception would be in the event of a medical emergency.

D. Cancellations made 14 days or more in advance of the event date, will receive a 100% refund (excluding handling fees). Cancellations made 13 to 7 in advance will receive 90% refund Cancellations made within 6 – 3 days will incur a 20% fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours to the event will incur a 30% fee. All refunds exclude handling fees.

E. Should a client wish to reschedule an appointment for a given reason, so long as no costs are incurred by Sundirect International Medical Care & services, the doctors/medical facility, Hotel/accommodation or the travel provider, no additional costs will be submitted to the client but please keep in mind that high and low seasons and or availability will have an effect on reservation fees and costs. Should it be the case that you have booked your travel through our travel office the conditions of cancellation will be delivered to you along with your travel/flight details. These can vary according to airline, time of year and other factors, so please read said conditions carefully to avoid any confusion.
